MAKING ME HAPPY MONDAY

I have had a great couple of days recently. I finally sealed the deal on a new apartment, YES! I have been having a lot of fun at work. The weather in Chicago has just been spectacular. Overall, I am just feeling like I’m in a good place. And who doesn’t like that?

But here are a few things that are making me extra happy this Monday:

1. This website, The EveryGirl, is so empowering and fun to read. So is the personal blog of one of the creators of The EveryGirl, Breakfast at Toast. Bonus points because this site is based in Chicago!

2. This chair makes me giggle. And now I desperately want it.

3. Have you watched the documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead? Oiy. It’s life changing. There will be more on that later…

4. Fun. I am thoroughly obsessed with this band right now. They are just so talented and interesting. I have spent an embarrassing amount of time youtubing great interviews with them and watching all of their music videos. Are you a fan of Fun.?

What is making you happy today? I hope you have a marvelous Monday!

if you’re lucky enough to have four little things to enjoy on a Monday, you’re lucky enough

HELLO MONDAY

I just decided that Mondays are going to be great days of the week. I know it’s the cool thing to hate Mondays, but I just don’t want to do it. Monday is a fresh start, a new week. And Monday, I apologize that you are usually hated. But this week I just want to say HELLO! I was productive this weekend, and I’m ready for you!

And I wish you the same this Monday.

if you’re lucky enough to forgive Monday for coming by, you’re lucky enough

SEVEN THINGS: somewhere over the rainbow

monday blues? i think not. let’s all have monday RAINBOWS. who’s with me?

one: i have a feeling this cake tastes just as lovely as it looks. maybe i should test this theory out?

two: combines two things i adore. reading and drawing. it’s brilliant, just brilliant.

three: i am 99.76% certain that i am going to own this one day.

four: this eye drives me wild. do you think anyone would judge me if i did my makeup like this? this just in: i think i don’t care. i want to do it!

five: i have virgin hair. never dyed. not even once. wouldn’t it be caaaraazy if i did this as my first dye job ever? if i didn’t work in the corporate world, i’d be tempted. way tempted.

six: i don’t know about ya’ll, but this photo just makes my heart smile.

seven: what do you think– either the happiest or the grumpiest guy lives in house and nothing in between. for the sake of all things cheery and colorful, my bets on the happy guy.

now that felt nice. is everyone else on the monday RAINBOWS bandwagon with me? or was that a little bit too much pep and glee for you? {sorry, but it’s going to keep on flooding on to this ol’ blog like a hose full of glitter.}

if you’re lucky enough to have the monday rainbows, you’re lucky enough

dang you jet lag…

i was certain i had beat it. ever since arriving in ireland, i’ve been go, go, go. but yesterday, as our first day of classes approached, jet lag hit. i was so exhausted at school that i could barely keep my eyes open. i felt like a walking zombie. i rushed home after my last class and took a nap. i planned to stay in for the night, paint my nails, and just relax. but… plan foiled. monday night is apparently one of the biggest nights for the irish.

it’s a strange thing, but the irish go out all week and go home on the weekends. it’s definitely different than how american college students work. but it should be an interesting change. and this way, us americans can travel on the weekends without feeling as though we’re missing out on galway life.

but now, i’m just trying to catch up on sleep and prepare for the rest of the week. it’s been a great few days and i’m having an amazing time. and i don’t feel guilty for laying low today because i have 5 months to live it up here. 1 or 2 days out of the 5 months isn’t too bad to be too exhausted to move.

if you’re lucky enough to have something to do every night, you’re lucky enough
