if i had just ONE day in san francisco, here is how i would want to spend it…

taking gorgeous photos of myself, my friends, my family and the bridge on the marin headlands which is just one exit north of the golden gate bridge.
stopping at pier 39 and (yes it’s painfully touristy) eating a bowl of world famous clam chowder from either boudin‘s or from a street cart. you can see the loud, barking sea lions, eat amazing crepes, and shop in some of the goofiest stores around.

taking a boat cruise and tour alcatraz. i’ve been to alcatraz more times than i can count (that’s me! age 5! see, my first time at a very young age, so yes you can take the kids too!) and i learn something new every time.
spending an hour of two walking the streets of china town taking photos of the lamp posts, graffitied walls, and kitschy shops.
walking the bridge. so many locals live their entire lives without doing it, but the experience is unmatchable.
AND if you happen to have more free time or you’re lucky enough to spend more than one day in the city here are a few more of my favorites. drink the best sangria at chachachas. have the best irish coffee at buena vista. and shop on haight street for the best vintage stores wasteland, held over, and one of the absolute best goodwills in all of san francisco. and allow yourself at least an hour in amoeba records.
am i forgetting something you truly adore? any other san francisco recommendations? i love the city and i’d love any new ideas from you amazing readers.
if you’re lucky enough to spend a day in san francisco, you’re lucky enough
